PBL in Geodesy and Geomatics: examples

Using PBL and active learning techniques is crucial in an up-to date learning environment, since they provides the ability for students to be immersed into pseudo-real world scenarios, thus encouraging them to take more responsibility for their own learning and apply their knowledge at successively higher levels, which are some of the aims of higher education (lifelong learning).

This is one of the reasons why the GEOWEB Project (Modernising geodesy education in Western Balkan  with focus on competences and learning outcomes, funded by the European Union's Erasmus+ Programme, Key Action 2: Capacity Building in the field of Higher Education, 2015-2018) encouraged the Balkan partner universities to implement PBL in their curriculum.

As a result, 6 PBL scenarios related to Geomatics, Geodesy and Geography (at BSc and MSc level) have been developed and used at these Universities. You can download them from the table below. Enjoy!
